Hardwood Log Grading Scaling ***FULL***
Course Content:
Join UNH Cooperative Extension’s Ray Berthiaume, Coos County Forester, and Wagner Forest Management’s Scott Rineer, Regional Manager, for an afternoon identifying hardwood log species, observing the variety of log grades and the defects that affect those grades. We’ll also discuss the different markets available for the species and grades of hardwood saw logs that are produced in the North Country.

What to Bring:
Hardhats, if available, clothing and footwear suitable for weather and conditions for this time of year. We will be in and around an active log yard so appropriate dress and safety is required. (Some hardhats and ear plugs will be available if necessary)
Directions:
From Gorham, N.H. take NH Rt. 16 north to Errol. Turn left onto NH Rt. 26 west at LL Cote Sporting Goods. In 1.9 miles the destination is on your right. From Littleton follow NH Rt. 116 east, US Rt. 3 north and NH Rt. 110 east for 42.5 miles. Turn left onto NH Rt. 110A and drive 3.9 miles to NH Rt. 16 to NH Rt. 26 west for 19.3 miles.
